This is a unique formula.  A concentrated soap scum and scale remover for home use with the added benefit of powerful germ-fighting action. A versatile, powerful cleaner using 100% plant-based ingredients.  It’s strong and affordable, so apply liberally and let the formula do the work.

Effective on a wide range of surfaces.  We use this in kitchens for sinks and faucets, applying liberally and scrubbing around the faucet base with a small brush.

In bathrooms, this formula shines.  Virtually every surface benefits from its mild acid and light foaming action.  Sinks, tubs, tile, toilets, everything. Used daily, it will prevent scale build-up in showers.

If you have significant hard-water stains and/or limescale, feel free to mix the product at up to 3x the standard rate.  Apply liberally and allow to soak, re-applying before the surface dries if necessary. Once the buildup is removed, the standard dilution will do just fine. Use of a stiff brush, non-abrasive scrubbing pad, or melamine sponge is also highly recommended.

In cases of severe scale, an initial treatment with a concentrated acid cleaner will be necessary.  Use care, as these cleaners are generally pretty nasty.

Not for use on Marble when concentrated.  Safe for limited contact when diluted.

Use and Instructions:

Mello soap co. products are designed for safety and efficacy in a wide range of applications.  As former professional cleaners ourselves we value formulas which work hard while being safe, gentle, and mildly scented.  Years of experience have taught us to avoid aggressive chemicals, powerful fragrances, and ready-to-use bottles. Safe, sustainable, and affordable.  That’s where we want to be.

Here are some recommendations:

Always test before use on any sensitive surface.  These cleaners contain essential oils and as such could stain certain fabric or very porous stone.  The sink/tub/tile formula is acidic and consequently not recommended for use on unsealed marble. Any spills of the concentrate should be cleaned up promptly.

Safety should always be a top priority when working with any chemical, natural or not.  Cleaning concentrates are not meant for ingestion and, along with and all cleaning supplies, should be stored safely away from children at all times.  We suggest using the child-resistant cap for customers with young children.

A few finer points on safety:

  • Prolonged contact with skin is to be avoided due to the drying effect of the soap.

  • Eye contact will result in irritation and discomfort, not unlike bar soap or shampoo.

  • Avoid excessive inhalation by spraying an area and walking away for a moment.

  • Those with asthma or severe allergies should likely avoid scented formulas.

  • Avoid mixing these formulas with any other household chemicals.

  • As always, if any irritation occurs discontinue use immediately.

All that said, these formulas employ ingredients that are commonly used in a wide range of personal care products.  These are milder cleaners than most, and should generally not cause issues.
